The Health Industry Forum had a research fund supported by its charter members, and sponsored three independent research projects on priority areas identified by the Forum's Board. The Forum ensured that the research was:

• Independent, objective, and non-partisan.
• Relevant to the current policy and practice environment.
• Focused on solving real-world problems.
• Conducive to partnerships between industry and research organizations

In its RFP (download RFP), the Forum allocated $800,000 to support research on disease management program components, and how they can be implemented most effectively.
