Is There A Business Case For Correcting Underuse in Health Care?
A recent RAND study documented that only fifty-five percent of American adults receive recommended health services. Despite increased national awareness of this problem, improving rates of use for evidence-based services has defied easy solutions. This conference was devoted to identifying the nature and consequences of underuse, discussing the business case for correcting underuse, and examining promising strategies implemented by employers, health plans, and pharmaceutical firms.
