Research and Evaluation

Within Brandeis University, the Heller School for Social Policy and Management has many social policy research centers and institutes. These groups contribute to the intellectual foundation and scholarship within the Heller School and strive to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

A prominent research facility at Heller is the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy and Research (SIHP). The Schneider Institutes have evolved since its founding in 1978 from one of the first U.S. academically-based health care services research entities focused exclusively on Federal health policy to one with a global focus that goes from national policy to the community efforts. Currently, SIHP conducts domestic and international research in the broad areas of financing, organization, value, high-cost and high-risk populations, and health technologies.
